Taken with my phone while driving. I think it's pretty damn nice for a cameraphone picture (knowing my phone is only 1.3 MP)
Alright, procrastination! Woot woot. I've
been a bit slow on writing new entries. I feel like I should because I need to
practice my English. I got one of my essays back today in English class and out
of all the red marks that covered my paper; I've managed to read a comment
stating my poor grammatical errors and irrelevant evidence. I hate Jana Davis.
On Wednesday night, we were celebrating
Herby’s 19th birthday (which by the way was a long time ago). We
went to Rodney's Oyster House for dinner. Of course, it took me hours to find
my way to the restaurant. I took the route recommended by TransLink,
but when it came down to walking, I was totally lost. I was freaking out,
making calls and even thought it would be useful to look up the address on my
BlackBerry Maps option. It did not help. I found my way in the end. If you
don't already know this, you'll know now: I have a very poor sense of
direction. I’ve jumped off busses at least 3 times worrying that I’ve missed my
stop, when actually I was about 5 stops too early. That's why if we're ever
meeting up, I'll either be really early or really late. Pushing a trolley full of heavy show programs.
Back to Herby's dinner: We enjoyed a
platter of fresh, raw oysters. Out of all the oysters I've tried in my life (not many), these ones
did not taste fishy at all. It was excellent (besides the fact I found a
squirming parasite in my oyster, but that's another story). Afterwards, we
headed down to the new McDonald's on Marine
Drive because Ryan, Scott and Geoff haven’t eaten
yet. We spent about an hour there where I swallowed a couple of sundaes (but
once again, that's another story…and please don't ask me about it ). Eva, Scott and Nicky folding show flyers.
Alas, we ended the night with Cranium because
Ryan, Herby and Geoff decided to ditch us to do what they usually do: cause mental
and physical destruction to the world we call Earth. We had a good time playing
Cranium at Jack's house. Of course, I was the Cranium champ *ahem ahem*, but
Sarah was the Cranium “cheat” (it was her game and she played it many times
before, hence knowing all the answers!). I will never forget Jack's Star-Performer
of George Bush and Sabrina's Humdinger of Takin' Care of Business. Eating nasty rice that only Scott and I liked.
This weekend Ryan, Nicky, Geoff, Donna, Maggie,
Scott, Anthony, Calvin, Eva and I volunteered for the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. gala (thanks
Ryan for the invite). The first night was pretty fun. We did a bit of lifting
and heavy work, but nothing too tiring. The second day was hella fun. We got to
see the performers rehearse. We were playing a game of
“wave-to-each-celeb-and-hope-they-will-wave-back.” Of course, because we were
in the GM Place
arena alone with them as they were sound checking, we cheered, clapped and
waved like we were their biggest fans! Little did they know, we had no clue who
the hell they were. Twins? Edison? Celine Dion?
During the night, Donna and I went star hunting.
We wouldn’t have done it because we were told by Ryan and our volunteer leader
not to. But all the other volunteers took pictures with the stars and we made
sure if we did, no one would see. Geoff got worried and a bit mad at us for
doing it, but we ended up taking pictures with a couple of them (sorry Ryan).
Niki Chow (my pleasure-maker) ignored me, Yumiko mumbled to me about going on
stage (liar), and Justin was forced onto stage just as Donna FINALLY got him to
agree to take a picture with us (we did some stalking, don't ask!). We did manage to take pictures with the
following stars/celebrities/talentless-whores (whatever) below: FROM L-R: TOP; Vincy & Stephy, BOTTOM; Kenny & Joyce Why do Donna and I look so douchey?
After the concert, we were forced to run up
and down the bleachers picking up left-over programs. The
workers-they-hired/bums who they got to clean up got mad because they "saw me" throwing the programs on the floor (which I didn’t). They were also
picking up leftover pizza and stuffing it into their mouths, mmm, what a treat! |
